Think like Sharks to Swim with Sharks - Oxford 14th June
Raising capital for a startup or small business is without question one of the most challenging aspects of growing a business. This one day workshop aims to help entrepreneurs and managers develop an investor mindset and provides them with a framework and toolkit to make their startup or new business propositions highly attractive to investors.
Many entrepreneurs and small business owners become both frustrated and discouraged by the amount of time it takes to secure capital, the rejections they endure, and the lack of linearity and progress checkpoints over the course of the fundraising process. Whether you are an entrepreneur trying to raise finance or a business executive looking for approval to develop a new business opportunity, by developing an investor mindset and adopting an investor focused approach you will benefit in three critical ways:
You will complement your laser focused approach to building your product or service with a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem, the market and your customers.
You will be poised to better manage the relationship with your investors or backers and set balanced expectations focused on the metrics that matter.
You will become well versed on the critical elements that make your proposition investable, establish effective action plans to change the elements that currently make your proposition unattractive, and build an effective compelling pitch.
This is a fast-paced interactive hands-on 1 day-workshop working directly with serial entrepreneur and author Marcelo Bravo. You will immerse yourself in mindset of the investor and work with the group to make investment decisions in real case studies. You will then use the framework to self assess the investability potential of your opportunity and establish actions plans to tackle critical gaps. After the workshop participants will have clear understanding of how to make their propositions highly attractive to investors and action plans to strengthen their pitch and successfully raise capital.
